Tribute to MJ

As the world mourns and pays respects to the legendary 'King of Pop' let's just spend a few moments remembering one of his most cherished message to the world. As his brother Marlon Jackson says in his speech during Michael Jackson's Memorial Services at the Staples Center "We would never understand what he endured...being judged...ridiculed..How much pain can one take? May be now Michael they will leave you alone..." . Truly, when he was alive he was thrown into a trench of scandals, at least now lets hope he will be remembered for all the goodness in him, for he truly deserves it. The lyrics of this lovely creation of his speaks volumes of the kind of person he is and we should salute to this hero who will always live in our hearts. I hope, we not just read, listen and enjoy but also try to contemplate and practice this message (in our own little ways).

"Heal The World"

There's A Place In
Your Heart
And I Know That It Is Love
And This Place Could
Be Much
Brighter Than Tomorrow
And If You Really Try
You'll Find There's No Need
To Cry
In This Place You'll Feel
There's No Hurt Or Sorrow

There Are Ways
To Get There
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Little Space
Make A Better Place...

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

If You Want To Know Why
There's A Love That
Cannot Lie
Love Is Strong
It Only Cares For
Joyful Giving
If We Try
We Shall See
In This Bliss
We Cannot Feel
Fear Or Dread
We Stop Existing And
Start Living

Then It Feels That Always
Love's Enough For
Us Growing
So Make A Better World
Make A Better World...

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

And The Dream We Were
Conceived In
Will Reveal A Joyful Face
And The World We
Once Believed In
Will Shine Again In Grace
Then Why Do We Keep
Strangling Life
Wound This Earth
Crucify Its Soul
Though It's Plain To See
This World Is Heavenly
Be God's Glow

We Could Fly So High
Let Our Spirits Never Die
In My Heart
I Feel You Are All
My Brothers
Create A World With
No Fear
Together We'll Cry
Happy Tears
See The Nations Turn
Their Swords
Into Plowshares

We Could Really Get There
If You Cared Enough
For The Living
Make A Little Space
To Make A Better Place...

Heal The World
Make It A Better Place
For You And For Me
And The Entire Human Race
There Are People Dying
If You Care Enough
For The Living
Make A Better Place
For You And For Me

Rest in Peace MJ. You will live forever in the hearts of all your fans for your music and more...

PS: Today, I am really glad as I look back 5 years to my 12th grade group song competition where we, as a class, performed
Heal the World , simply cause we honestly believed in the beauty of its lyrics and music.

Ignorance is bliss??

This is a different sort of a post from me today. I am very nostalgic today as I listen to my malayalam playlist. After traversing half the globe, and just after 2 months of my stay here, I have begun to miss my mother-tongue. I miss my home-town in general. I miss Malayalam.... I miss the divine atmosphere of the temples.... I miss the reverberating moments during the deeparadhanas .... I miss the smell of wet earth... I miss the sight of greenery like how its in Kerala... I miss the sight of towering coconut trees... I miss the sight of the language in the shop boards and compound walls.... I miss the feel of the humid air rather than the conditioned air here... I miss the chaos on the streets... I miss the sight of backwaters... I feel overwhelmed with so much of emotions and love for the language as the melody of the music fills my heart. But as I express these melancholic feelings... I am also filled with ignominy towards the nonchalant people of a common mother-tongue about their...

Irony unsurpassed...

"Your identity as i know is like this, Name: Rashid, Religion: Humanity..." . These were the words of ' Indira ' a character from the acclaimed Malayalam novelist M.T Vasudevan Nair 's screenplay ' Panchagni '. So very significant is this one line that comes towards the end of the movie...The world would have been so much better off if everyone recognized every other man around him with such kind of an identity. We are so entwined with all our multiple identities; that of caste, religion, language, race, color, sex, etc .. that we overlook the one common factor that binds us, that of being in the same species!! We are all human beings first... the "greatest" of all of God's creations as we claim to be. We all fail to stay united no matter how many ever lessons life teaches us. It is at times of natural disasters like earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, that one forgets the numerous identities he has and rushes forward to extend his he...

The Choice is yours...

This is for vegetarians, to feel content about being so. And for the non-vegetarians to re-think what they are doing. I couldn't even watch more than 2:30 mins of this video. So, please, its a caution for all those who will be watching it. I do not like to showcase violence ,but sometimes it becomes an inevitable tool to spread awareness for a good and a higher cause. Its simply human psychology to see or hear the negative of something to refrain from doing it rather than hearing all the positive and get inspired. This is the video link: http://www.chooseveg.com/animal-cruelty.asp?gclid=COiR3c3P6pUCFRKLxwodLGxReg When I chose to become a vegetarian, (firstly, out of requirements for Vedic chanting and then followed by my own personal, inner call , I hadn't seen any such videos to provoke me) there were a few people who appreciated my move and some who told me I am going to lack on a nutritious diet. Well, I made it a point to include enough of pulses and broccoli and high nutri...
